Glass Tempering

Glass tempering

Glass tempering is an excellent way to strengthen glass and make it safer to use. Heating the glass to over 600 degrees Celsius and then rapidly cooling it causes the glass structure to condense, making it about seven times more impact-resistant than regular glass. However, when it does break, it shatters into small pieces that do not cause significant injury. It is therefore considered safety glass. Mochnik Glass has four tempering furnaces, the largest with a loading area of 2800 x 6000 mm. Curved tempered glass can also be manufactured with a height of 2800 mm and a side length of 2500 mm.

Where is tempered glass used?

Glass tempering is a process that significantly expands the range of applications for this material. Tempered glass is successfully used in the construction industry, as it meets all strict safety standards. These are not the only uses for tempered glass. Its properties are appreciated in the furniture, lighting, household appliances, and interior design industries, making it a material often chosen by designers and decorators.

Applications of tempered glass in construction:

01

Glazed facades and walls

Tempered glass is ideal for large glazing, shop windows and facades of office and commercial buildings, ensuring safety and impact resistance.
